Overview
More Than Words of Austin is seeking an experienced and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team on a contract basis. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality speech and language therapy services. Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapy Implementation:
    •   – Execute individualized therapy plans as directed by the supervising SLP.
    • Conduct therapy sessions focused on improving speech, language, and communication skills.
    • Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to engage clients and achieve treatment goals.
  • Client Monitoring and Feedback:
    • Observe client progress during sessions and provide detailed feedback to the supervising SLP.
    • Encourage and support clients throughout the therapy process to maximize outcomes.
    • Adapt therapy activities in real-time based on client responses, with SLP oversight
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Accurately document therapy sessions, progress notes, and any changes in client performance.
    • Assist with the preparation of necessary reports and updates as required by the SLP.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Material Preparation and Management:
    • Prepare and organize materials for therapy sessions to ensure a smooth and effective process.
    • Maintain therapy rooms and equipment, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.
    • Create and distribute home practice materials for clients and their families as needed.
  • Collaboration and Professional Communication:
    • Collaborate closely with the supervising SLP and other team members to provide coordinated care.
    • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and any required training sessions.
    • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, families, and caregivers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Current Texas state license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
  • Previous experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. –
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under the supervision of an SLP.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
